Three Women 03:04
I want to see you through For whatever your story means. Can we put aside our differences, Repair the broken seams? Outcasts in mothers world, In the shadows of her broken dreams, Her voice will sometimes linger when We've lost what we believe. Sometimes I wonder, Would you be true to the end? If we weren't bound by a mother, Could I still call you a friend? No room for bitterness, I long for things to be sweet. I'd never wish for a thing like this To ever repeat. I'm sure that we weren't born To live without chance to see What beauty lies with opened eyes; To finally feel free. Sometimes I wonder, Would you be true to the end? If we weren't bound by a mother, Could I still call you a friend? I want to see you through For whatever your story means. Can we put aside our differences To share our thoughts and dreams?

Live alone and revel in unwatching, girls, save the unconscious level. But if they watch your world, each moment’s quiet masterpiece very, very soon now, you shall see, Unravels even more power with unwatching, girls, and then, with every hour, as independence unfurls, you are the watching one. You’ll find a spirit or two is hiding there. And that's how I learned to stop fearing ghosts. Their eyes that once burned were turned when I realized that I can watch them, too. We build these men that spend all their days in our minds. I say, deconstruct them then, See the peace you may find. Each moment’s quiet masterpiece very, very soon now, you shall see, Unravels even more power with unwatching, girls, and then, with every hour, as independence unfurls, you are the watching one. You’ll find a spirit or two is hiding there. And that's how I learned to stop fearing ghosts. Their eyes that once burned were turned when I realized that I can watch them, too.

I'd like to see the bad guys win some time I'd like to see the bad guys win They act so mean, and they try so hard To get into the trouble they're always in I'd like to see the bad guys have some fun They're always getting pushed around Wouldn't it be thrilling to see Stories catching up with reality I'd like to see the good guys giving in And letting the bad guys win Sometime I'd like to see the bad guys win I'd like to see the bad guy get the girl The good guy's always such a bore He's well-behaved, and he's so sincere But you don't even get what he gives a horse I'd like to see the bad guys get away They're always getting shot or hung Wouldn't it be thrilling to see A happy ending ending unhappily I'd like to tell the good guys `it's no sin' To let the bad guys win Sometime I'd like to see the bad guys win

Maybe I was born for folly, maybe I was made feeble. Surround yourself with only the most tender of people. Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth some day. Well, I’d bet most all of my silver we were meant to die this way. Knowing my own heart has proven to be a tearful affair, like a knife right through my chest, like bitter blood-laden prayer. Knowing my own heart too well has swaddled me in ashes, scribbled out like psalms all on the pavement; onlookers burn books of matches. Buried in my deeper slumbers, painting ribbons with my voice, in prophetic dreams, hand in hand, with my body, I rejoice. We lick the salt from our palms, we polish our coins with ashes, eyes wide like lighthouse beams, waiting for someone to lift the latches. Knowing my own heart has proven to be a tearful affair, like a knife right through my chest, like bitter blood-laden prayer. Knowing my own heart too well has swaddled me in ashes, scribbled out like psalms all on the pavement; onlookers burn books of matches. Maybe I was born for folly, maybe I was made feeble. Surround yourself with only the most tender of people.

You Alone 02:16
Irises of amber pooling, curtained by black locks of hair, Love, who are you fooling with that sad and solemn stare? I see the strength of your brilliant heart Misunderstood at length examined and torn apart Can I unlock with time The gentle movements of your mind? Daggers like silver tongues pierce any word that’s kind. Do you know that you alone can bring my joyful fate? Come now, let me adore you before it’s too late. And soon your furrowed brow will relax, your eyes in a smile let me be your only love Let me be blessed all the while.

The Bride 03:29
You came into my life on a westward wind Opened me like a knife dipped in honey Now it doesn’t matter where we’ve been Matters even less where we’re going I know that you’ll be there and now that’s my only care A bride married to an idea, Abstract and all-knowing, I was a lonely little mourning dove Lost in a terrible longing, I didn’t know that when it really happened it could be even better. Now I love you because I can see you Love is nothing more, nothing less You fight for justice, cutting through A heartless world with such softness I know that you’ll be there and now that’s my only care A bride married to an idea, Abstract and all-knowing, I was a lonely little mourning dove Lost in a terrible longing, I didn’t know that when it really happened it could be even better.

about

An intimist and privatized inquiry of the feminine, Sydney Sue’s “The Woman We Created” EP is a dreamy collection of tracks that deals with themes related to the struggle of carving your own identity amidst conflicts of generation and personality within a household, the psychological concept of emotional inheritance, the unshaken will for empathy, the desire to break away from traumatic experiences and to perceive love and devotion as a means of rediscovering and rebuilding one’s feminine self.

In this EP the listener will get acquainted with a voice that easily rivals the bulk of most 60’s era female pop singers, as well as lyricism and melodics that evoke characters such as Judee Sill, Vashti Bunyan and obviously Margo Guryan, whose original 1973 track “I’d Like to See the Bad Guys Win” was uniquely renditioned here in a manner that would surely make her proud.
