The look in your eyes says it all You think you’re immune to a fall You’re diving deeper into black I tried to see you through The sunshine fading to blue I missed you like a wound Misses the knife that tore it in two When I awoke from my dream I dragged myself into the stream Thinking over the things you lack Running memories back to back I dove yet deeper into black I tried to see you through The sunshine fading to blue I missed you like a wound Misses the knife that tore it in two Your empty-hearted stare has drawn My heavy nights into the dawn The stars kiss the endless tears That seemed to fall for years I dove yet deeper into black I tried to see you through The sunshine fading to blue I missed you like a wound Misses the knife that tore it in two

Laugh It Off 02:15
Wherever it hurts me I Find you there inside Sticking like a burr When I reach deep and find The sorry will to cry It goes unheard I alone can eat your words Let the past go fast Let them go unheard Wherever it hurts me I Find you there inside Sticking like a burr The night Is falling The night Is failing But if I laugh it off It just drips away

Walking On 03:57
Could this be the end of all I’ve planned? A new heart to read, a new love in my hand And could it be you that I'll cling to? I’ll walk on; I’ll breathe in The many things we’ll do My head is filled with ugly things All of the pain and the hurt you may bring And could it be you that I'll cling to? I’ll walk on; I’ll breathe in The many things we’ll do Would you draw me near, love, and keep my fear From stopping me unwillingly, now that you’re here? For it could be you that I'll cling to I’ll walk on; I’ll breathe in The many things we’ll do My love, can I sing away the long night? Far beyond the darkness, I know there’s light And could it be you that I'll cling to I’ll walk on; I’ll breathe in The many things we’ll do

My world is small Now that I have strength in spades I’ve seen and done it all Locked my heart within a cage Sleep, wake up, do it all again Haven’t I seen this before? Convinced myself it’s a sin To believe romantic lore So easy to fall in love when you have everything to lose The saddest thing about it all is that you can’t even choose My world is small Now I live in an empty room Here it feels quite safe to fall Into the arms of another day The dusty mirror hangs Upon the whitewashed wall Projecting my growing pains Ignoring every single call So easy to fall in love when you have everything to lose The saddest thing about it all is that you can’t even choose You can’t erase me or deface me You can’t take away my name You’re as empty as a man can be So easy to fall in love when you have everything to lose The saddest thing about it all is that you can’t even choose

As the mist settles On these empty years Your voice just melts Into waves of blue As the cuckoo cries Another spring is born Your face just melts Into waves of blue As my memories fade All my thoughts of you That haunted me erode Impart a crimson hue As the longing leaves The mazes of my mind Your words of love dissolve Impart a crimson hue As the echos carom About my aching heart They etch into the walls A name for you, you, you

From the ivory windowsill Over the tops of the pines We hear the whippoorwill And we lock eyes Four glowing bombs In a cascade of the dark night I rest my cheek in my palm You drift out of sight The moon is glowing Just to console me Just as we collide Our wedding bands are Twigs and violets, our bed The plain that stretches far My eyelids turn to lead Your spell is charming me With the swipe of the clock hand My senses whet in glee Then shatter into sand The moon is glowing Just to console me Just as we collide

By the Sea 04:19
So hard to say goodbye Leaving you today I've said goodbye before Leaving you alone By the sea We were thrown together A world unlike our own Believing in each other We drifted far away By the sea By the sea Some may say Love comes easy Unlike love Ours was empty Insincere and ever-fading Your words of love left me lonely One-sided love is lost before it's found A chance that my love will never become, never become Someone else will love me Though I may think of you It doesn't really matter 'Cause all my love was lost By the sea In time, I may forgive you Or tell myself a lie And leave what never was Another chance to be By the sea By the sea By the sea

Reinette 04:04
The wind breathes, tenderly Blowing the leaves (blowing the leaves) Raining down on me Silken earth ripens me As sun rays sing (as sun rays sing) With the buzzing Of the bees My life is so small Next to a tree Next to the sea Where does my God hide? Among the tide? (among the tide?) Or somewhere high? When I look on the world My fingers furl (my fingers furl) To capture Something unseen (something unseen) My life is so small Next to a tree Next to the sea Everything reminds me, everything reminds me Everything reminds The wind breathes, tenderly Blowing the leaves (blowing the leaves) Raining down on me Silken earth ripens me As sun rays sing (as sun rays sing) With the buzzing Of the bees My life is so small Next to a tree Next to the sea Where does my God hide? Among the tide? (among the tide?) Or somewhere high? When I look on the world My fingers furl (my fingers furl) To capture Something unseen (something not seen) My life is so small Next to a tree Next to the sea Everything reminds me, everything reminds me Everything reminds (I know there's something out there, something beyond I know there's something, something beyond I know there's something I know there's something beyond Beyond...)

I followed you all around Heard the sound Of thunder as you wept Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again) Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again) There are truths that men can’t know Truths a woman must show As she leads to the end Where a new life can grow This she knows Like the palm of her hand Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again) Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again) Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie Eleison Kyrie Eleison, Kyrie (The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots For the nature of matter is resolved into the roots of its own nature alone He who has ears to hear, let him hear.) Passions unmatched are met With man’s empty threats From their faulty thrones Curses born in the day Will at night fly away And then turn into stone Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again) Knock knock, have you moved From your lonely tomb? It is Miss Magdalene (I’ve come again)

about

A story of one heartbroken girl, consoled only by the light of the moon gently dripping down upon her windowpane, and quiet conversations with God, Heavy Nights is the first album by Sydney Sue.
